The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety has handed down punishment for the hit that resulted in the injury to Arizona Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson. The official NHL Player Safety Twitter accoutn broke the news. After reviewing the hit the league determiend that a two game suspension was warranted and as a result the Chicago Blackhawks will lose Joakim Nordstrom for the next two games. The incident occurred when Nordstrom pushed Ekman-Larsson face/head first into the boards from behind. There's really no way to justify the play from Nordstrom, he placed his hand dead center betwee nthe numbers on the back of Ekman-Larsson's jersey.
