Jordin Tootoo is one tough customer on the ice. His body-checks and physical play rock opponents everywhere. However, Tootoo has a softer side when it comes to his family and community. In this touching video, produced by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research for suicide awareness, Tootoo pays tribute to his deceased brother Terence, who took his own life Aug. 28, 2002. The 32-year-old New Jersey Devils forward speaks about his addiction to alcohol and what it meant to him to overcome addiction. He also thanks his father and hometown of Churchill, Man., for helping him become the person he is today. Tootoo is now in his 11th NHL season and has earned 148 points in 598 games.
