There was plenty of ugliness to go around during the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night. Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier allowed three goals on four shots before being mercifully pulled in the first period of the game. In addition, it appears that Nazem Kadri will likely be getting a call from the board of player safety after a bad hit he threw on Matt Fraser. Kadri clipped Fraser with an elbow while racing for the puck behind the net. Kadri even attempted to apologize to Fraser right after he delivered that check, which drew a two-minute illegal check to the head minor.
